DEMCO Platen Scraper Information
The Demco Platen Scraper is a unique cleaning device used to clean the surface of heated platens while they are still in the press. A set of blades is pushed against the surface of the platen then shoved along in short pulses, cutting the built up materials loose from the steel surface.
Different blades are available, and hard steel blades have the most aggressive cutting power. In applications where the surface cannot be scratched, aluminum bronze blades will still clean the crust from the surface but will not scratch the polished finish of a hardwood press platen.
