Hot Presses with jack rams will use two motors driving tandem vane pumps to close the presses at 400 to 500 inches per minute with a 3000-PSI piston pump on a 50 HP motor to provide the high-pressure circuit. Componets for Pump Closed systems (without jack ram) will depend on the style of the press. European presses with high-pressure systems will require 5000-PSI pumps. Large tandem vane pumps are used to close these presses and Vickers or Dennison are available choices. Press closing speeds of 320 to 420 inches per minute are possible. The choice of brands for the valves and pumps is limited by the size required and the cost of these components will vary by brand. The customer has the option to choose the brands that the mill prefers, and the quote will be adjusted accordingly.
