Panel Receiving Racks Information

Panel Receiving Racks Information (image 1 of 1)

Panel receiving racks, often called “pie racks” are installed behind a multiple opening hot press to take the individual panels after they are pushed out of the press and hold them on skate wheel arms. The panels are allowed to cool off a little before the unloader takes them out one at a time and makes stacks to be transported to the saw line or stored for later finishing.

Panel receiving racks used in hardwood applications often have plastic skate wheels to prevent staining on the surface of some hardwood species.

Most panel receiving racks have a tilt feature to help the panels fall away from the press, clearing the press for the next cycle. These racks can be mounted in a stationary position with an unloader moving up behind them to unload the panels or mounted on a hoist to descend in front of the unloader as the panels are removed and stacked.
